We’ve been talking a lot about Only Watch 2011, a charity auciton that allows a few dozen luxury watch brands to create special pieces that will likely never be duplicated.  Owning a one-of-a-kind watche has a certain allure to it, but you don’t have to be bidding at Only Watch to own one, or spend a lot of money by commissioning one.

Digging through auction catalogs, you often find pieces that are totally unique and equally underappreciated – for example this pink gold Omega from 1945 with a ruby-set dial.  Have you ever seen anything like it? Us either.  And, it’s estimated to sell for only $1500-$2500 at Antiquorum’s NY auction next week.  Plus, it even comes with a period box and original Omega buckle.  Further, it’s 37mm, a very good size for a watch this old.
