PAM01313 is an elegant take on the Luminor Marina – differentiated from the Luminor Base by the presence of its small seconds at the nine o’clock position. We’ve seen quite a few new Luminor Marina models this year, and some of them have been fairly unexpected. Remember the lume-heavy examples announced in titanium, Carbotec, and Fibratech? Those watches incorporated lume on their cases

I like the blue satiné soleil dial of this example quite a bit, and I think that this is actually the winner when you compare it to the aforementioned Luminor Marina in Goldtech. The design feels very tight, and the colors and surface finishings work well together. With the exception of the polished bezel, the case is brushed to a matte finish, and I love how it contrasts with the vibrant sandwich dial. The date window at three o’clock is going to have its detractors, I’m sure, but I appreciate its relative unobtrusiveness and matching blue background for the white numerals. It also provides a nice balance to the nine o’clock numeral and small seconds on the other side of the dial.
