Historic manufacturer Vacheron Constantin is opening its first boutique on US soil this month, along New York’s prestigious Madison Ave. This marks the brand’s 28th boutique worldwide, and is born of roots first laid in the city back in 1831, courtesy of Jean-Barthélémy Vacheron himself. To mark the occasion, VC has built three new references exclusively for the American market.
The new watches, bearing the suffix: Boutique New York, each evoke a part of the brand’s storied past, interpreted for American sensibilities. The exclusive models are: the Overseas Chronograph Perpetual Calendar Boutique New York, the Historiques American 1921 BNY and the Patrimony Traditionnelle caliber 2755 BNY. We paid the brand a visit earlier this summer, and we’ve got live pics of each.
Historiques American 1921 Boutique New York
A reinterpretation of its namesake (sans the BNY), this watch pays homage to the avant-garde cushion shaped model that VC produced specifically for the American market in the 1920’s, and its subsequent reissue in 2008. The BNY edition is limited to 64 pieces, each individually numbered and engraved with the inscription: Madison and 64th. Powering the watch is the in-house, hand-wound Caliber 4400. The distinguishing off-set dial of this watch might look familiar from the wrist of Josh Brolin in Money Never Sleeps, who wore the non BNY Historique in the flick.
