Mick Mooren, all of 19 years old, introduced his new brand, aptly named “Mooren Watch,” to the world in a launch event in his home country of the Netherlands. The first offering from Mooren is the “New Vintage” model, an attractively simple timepiece that lives up to its name thanks to its mix of a modern, lugless case with a dial that combines classic railroad minute track and cathedral hands with stark numbers. Though the watch doesn’t break new ground technologically, it is a solid first effort, with a German-made case from Ickler and a tried-and-true Swiss ETA 2824-2 self-winding movement. And it’s priced right too, at less than 1,000 Euros.

The New Vintage is a great start for Mooren and we’ll enjoying watching where this brand and its young owner go from here. We’re not the only ones to wish Mick well with his venture. Zenith President, Jean-Frédéric Dufour, posted a message on Zenith’s official Facebook page, wishing Mick luck with his endeavor.
